Every entrepreneur needs to learn the difference between a problem and a missed opportunity.
A problem is something that if not solved, threatens your business. Ex: our payment processor shut us down.
A missed opportunity is when you could do something to make more but you haven’t done it yet. Ex: we need to get those follow up emails going.
Here’s the thing – neglecting either feels stressful.
But there are finite problems but unlimited missed opportunities.
And if you let yourself get stressed out by the missed opportunities, you’ll forget to fix the problems that keep your business getting opportunities in the first place.
It took me a decade to learn the difference.
Prioritize problems. Which generally are not fun and suck. Ignore missed opportunities, which are generally fun distractions parading as the thing you’ve been missing. Rather than the thing that makes you miss.
